Tomorrow Is Another Country is the second collaborative production to emerge from Ruwanthie de Chickera’s Dear Children Sincerely project, which aims to preserve multiple historical narratives by sharing eyewitness accounts and experiences of Sri Lanka’s senior citizens.

This collection of monologues is built on interviews conducted with women and men born in the 1930s, who lived through colonization, independence, insurrection and war. The two monologues presented here reveal intense personal experiences of community and identity that allow for a deeper, more meaningful understanding of the various events and people that have helped shape this country’s past and present.

Directed by Tracy Holsinger, Tomorrow Is Another Country features performances from Ruwanthie de Chickera and Azira Esufally.
